Hue abandoned Water Park, Hue - Vietnam

The sleeping dragon of Hue

A waterpark abandoned for more than a decade gets a second wind from intrigued backpackers and local picnic goers.

Upon entering the park an unofficial looking man appears from behind a boom gate requesting money for entry (approximately US $1).  Just don’t expect an entry ticket.

The centrepiece of the park is a twisted dragon that seems to be jealously guarding a broken promise. Upon closer inspection the extent of decay and vandalism become apparent. Inside the dragon a kitsch underwater theme lays bare against a shattered aquarium that has all but dried up.
Visitors can still scale the dragon and look out through the beats’s mouth to appreciate views over the park.

The amphitheatre resembles a zombie apocalypse rather than a family friendly day out.
Crocodiles were said to be living here before being removed by authorities for health and safety reasons.

The dense vegetation seems to be slowly digesting the disused park slides that twist and turn their way into murky depths below.
Visitors can still climb up and down the slides but stay well back from taking the final plunge.

Strolling around the park will uncover a number of other untold stories and fantastic photo opportunities.

Its ironic that the unfortunate demise of this park has led to its own revival.
